About the Book

Title: Guardian of Secrets
Author: Brenda Drake
Series: Library Jumpers (#2)
Release Date: February 7, 2017

Being a Sentinel isn’t all fairytales and secret gardens.

Sure, jumping through books into the world’s most beautiful libraries to protect humans from mystical creatures is awesome. No one knows that better than Gia Kearns, but she could do without the part where people are always trying to kill her. Oh, and the fact that Pop and her had to move away from her friends and life as she knew it.

And if that isn’t enough, her boyfriend, Arik, is acting strangely. Like, maybe she should be calling him “ex,” since he’s so into another girl. But she doesn’t have time to be mad or even jealous, because someone has to save the world from the upcoming apocalypse, and it looks like that’s going to be Gia.

Maybe. If she survives.

Why Guardians of Secrets?

The first book, Thief of Lies, was really not my favourite and I had a lot of complaints. Having said that, I think the sequel could be a lot better and I want to know what happens to Gia. Also, her “relationship” with Arik, as much as it frustrated me, did pique my interest.

Honestly, unless you’re super curious I wouldn’t bother picking up the first one. It’s only because I have a lot of unanswered questions about book 1 that I’m even considering buying this. Thanks for commenting, Jessica!

I didn’t really mind the first one. I found it to be a decent enough read. This one has the potential to be better, but sometimes I think the second book in a series falls short. Hope that doesn’t happen to this one.

I think there’s so much to develop in the second one that it should be better just because of that? But you’re right, second books don’t always have the best track record. I guess we’ll have to wait and see. Thanks for stopping by!

    The cover though! Absolutely stunning.
I’ve been meaning to start this series, but I haven’t found the time.
I hope you love this one.

I saw this on another blog yesterday, and it was the first time I’d seen the book! It was a lovely cover. I remember seeing the first book around, recently. I love that this second book has the couple on it. :D I hope you enjoy this one when you get the chance to read it, Zareena!

Yes, the covers are super pretty :) (although I’m not a fan of the models’ faces on the cover). Thanks for stopping by, Alyssa!

No problem, Lisa! I hope you enjoy the first book if you read it :)
